The organising committee then announced that the sons of the late Abdullah Hassan Al Rostamani have been named the Charity Personality of the Year in recognition of their charitable and humanitarian support to the Dar Al Bar Society projects and programmes.

Whereas the Ihsan Charity Organization of Sudan and the Eshraq Al Nour Charity Society were announced as the best charity associations for the year, Dar Al Ber Society orphans have presented a memorial plaque to the sponsor of the event H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.

The organising committee then honoured the sponsors of the event, spanning the Dubai Islamic bank, CID department of Dubai Police, Knowledge and HR Development Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Municipality, Zabeel Studio, Al Barjeel Foundation, Fugah Perfumes, Concorde Emirates Hotel, Qaywan Group and Khan Saheb Group.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, expressed his sincere appreciation to H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum for her white hands and sponsorship of the Dar Al Ber orphans ceremony.

Renowned Poet Ali Al Muhairi then chanted a poem on the generosity and unlimited giving of H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, following which Brigadier Dr. Ibrahil Al Dabel gave a speech on the virtue of sponsoring orphans and showing them compassion.

Hussain Murad Al Balochi, Manager of Orphans and Families Sponsorship department, and Deputy Chairman of the ceremony organising committee, said the function saw the presence of 200 local orphans and 21 from other countries.

“Dar Al Ber had organised a number of tours to entertain the delegations and orphans invited to the ceremony during which they visited the headquarters of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, Dubai Butterfly Garden, Ski Dubai at the Mall of the Emirates, Burj Khalifa, and other fascinating tourist sites in Dubai.”

Official records show that Dar Al Ber is sponsoring 30,818 orphans in the UAE and 912 abroad in collaboration with 29 accredited entities worldwide, he disclosed. “Dar Al Ber is also sponsoring 585 families and 42 special needs people; all with the help of 16,785 philanthropists and sponsors here.”

Dar Al Ber is so keen to run such activities and gatherings on a regular basis to bring happiness to the orphans and vulnerable people, he underlined. “We are so grateful to all sponsors and supports, without whole it would have been difficult to carry out such critical charity projects.”
