pastingDubai, UAE: Dar Al Ber Society, committed to philanthropic work, spent Dh7,453,314 on 2,458 low-income families and individuals, Emiratis and of different nationalities, in the first quarter of the year.

On top of these was the payment of Dh1,371,850 against the tenancy rents of 197 indigent families, and Dh30,608 against electricity bills for nine low-income families.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, said they covered 14 types of financial allowances for vulnerable people in the first three months of the year.

“Dar Al Ber paid Dh1,573,560 against school fees for 303 male and female students of low-income families and Dh491,742 against university fees for 69 students.”

These are added to Dh1,074,037 for buying medicine to 103 poor patients, and Dh425,370 for paying out the debts of 33 defaulters involved in traffic accidents and crimes.”

Dar Al Ber further supported seven preachers and Sharia science learners with Dh36,120, paid Dh36,356 as tickets for 16 wayfarers, Dh40,000 as marriage assistance for five people, Dh6,000 for supporting three new Muslim converts, he elaborated.

“These are apart from the ‘Lifetime Umrah’ trips, worth Dh1,622,150, which 2,228 low-income people benefited from,” he said. “Up to Dh1,031,079 were also spent as general expenses for 304 poor people.”

The ‘Summer’ project was also included in the charity projects of the first quarter of the year, Al Falasi underlined. “Dar Al Ber has provided Dh13,590 for buying air conditioners and fridges to 11 low-income people.
