During the first quarter of this year, the Dar Al Ber Society spent 98,090,101 million dirhams on a large, integrated and well-thought-out package of charitable, humanitarian and sustainable developmental projects, inside and outside the UAE, within a number of countries worldwide that are the most in need, in the continents of Africa, Asia and Europe.

Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, said: " 1,767,955 people benefited from 5 development projects and initiatives implemented by the Society during the first three months of this year, inside and outside the country, which are seasonal projects, development projects, urgent relief projects, projects to support orphans and humanitarian aid within the country."

Integrated initiatives

Dr. Muhammad Al-Muhairi stated that 480,446 people benefited from the external seasonal projects, which were launched by the Society during January, February and March, at a total cost of 4,829,950 million dirhams, while 1,226,384 individuals benefited from the developmental projects of Dar Al Ber, with a total cost of 52,346,091 million dirhams, as well as 33,900 individuals benefited from urgent external relief projects, which were implemented by the Society in a number of countries at a cost of 1,962,227 million dirhams. Also, 3,562 cases at a cost of 25,462,082 million dirhams.

Developmental, seasonal and urgent projects

Al-Muhairi said that the seasonal projects outside the country included 4 projects, which are providing food for those fasting, zakat al-Fitr, Eid clothing, and food baskets. While the development projects also included 4 projects, which are water saving projects, projects for building mosques and providing their facilities and services, charitable endowment projects, projects supporting productive families, and urgent relief projects ensured the provision of food baskets and infant formula to the afflicted.

Support for orphans and internal aid

The 'Projects to Support Orphans' included various and comprehensive charitable humanitarian projects, namely sponsoring orphans, sponsoring orphan families, sponsoring people of determination, building and operating homes specialized in caring for orphans, and providing Eid clothing for orphans, while the list of humanitarian aid projects within the country included housing support, education support, charitable projects, paying electricity bills for the needy and financially distressed, supporting debtors, maintaining homes for low-income citizens, and supporting needy families.

Al Muhairi added that Dar Al Ber Society seeks to achieve the highest levels of support and assistance for the needy inside and outside the UAE, based on the established values of our country to do good, to help the poor and the needy, and to help the afflicted. Its pioneering humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering of the needy everywhere, reducing poverty, eliminating hunger and sponsoring sustainable developmental humanitarian projects in various fields, as humanitarian work has become a way of life in our country and contributes to leaving a humanitarian footprint locally and globally.
