The Dar Al Ber Society launched a large-scale humanitarian relief campaign for Somalia, under the title ‘Somalia... We Are One’, aimed at extending a helping hand, charity and providing urgent aid to the Somali people, in the face of the current drought situation in their country.

Dar Al Ber announced that the urgent relief campaign will continue for a period of two weeks, starting from today, and aims to collect donations and support for the benefit of the afflicted Somali people to a total value of up to 10 million dirhams, from donors, philanthropists, and public and private institutions, under the supervision and follow-up of the Department of Charitable Affairs and Work in Dubai.

1.4 million are at risk of drought
According to its website, the United Nations confirmed that the drought threatens to displace 1.4 million Somalis; the repercussions of the drought are expected to affect them, during the next six months.

Doors of Goodness
Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, explained that the expanded humanitarian campaign consists of main categories and aid, which are providing food baskets to the needy there, providing safe drinking water, and implementing a number of well-digging projects in the affected areas.

Al Muhairi stressed that the expanded humanitarian campaign constitutes a continuation and enhancement of the UAE policy and its continuous efforts to help the Somali people. In which Sheikh Zayed (may Allah have mercy on him), started in extending a helping hand to the people of the world and helping them to overcome their natural calamities and their difficult living and material conditions.

Severe repercussions
Dr. Al Muhairi said: “The relief campaign is working with all its energy to urgently provide relief and assistance to the Somali people, in light of the drought that has affected large and extended areas of the country, and to help relieve the severe negative effects on the lives of Somalis and to provide them their daily living and humanitarian needs and services.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Muhairi pointed to the opening of several diverse channels to donate and contribute to supporting the relief campaign, which are all approved channels and donation methods, in an effort to make the charitable campaign successful and achieve all its humanitarian goals, and towards opening the doors of goodness and charity for the benefit of the afflicted in Somalia, including bank accounts of the Society, smart applications, SMS, calling the toll-free number (80090), the Dar Al Ber website, or donating at the customer service center at its headquarters, on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, and its other branches in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah as well as its representatives in all Emirates of the country. Also via the campaign link, and the Society's social media accounts, in addition to making donations to representatives of the Dar Al Ber Society, in various locations, in malls and commercial centres.
