The Needy Families Committee in Umm Al Quwain, affiliated with the Dar Al Ber Society, provided generous financial support, amounting to 200 thousand dirhams, for the benefit of defaulting students in paying their tuition fees due to Umm Al Quwain University, within the framework of the society’s policy and its charitable community development approach, aimed at strengthening and supporting the process in the educational and academic sector in the country, given its great value and wide-ranging role in sustainable development, comprehensive progress and community happiness.

Ali Hassan Al-Assi, Chairman of the Needy Families Committee in Dar Al Ber, handed over the value of the donation to Professor Dr Jalal Hatem, General Director of the university. Ali Al-Assi said, during the delivery of support to the university administration: “The total support provided by the Needy Families Committee to the needy students of Umm Al Quwain University, who are unable to pay their tuition fees, has so far reached one million five hundred and eighty thousand dirhams, which has been paid over the past years.”

He stressed that the committee will continue to work hard to support students in schools and universities, to help them complete their education and studies and graduate successfully, in preparation for their qualification to enter the labor market in the UAE and fill suitable jobs, in order to help themselves and their families to provide sources of income that cover their needs, contribute to building their future and advancing the development process, building, sustainability and integrated development in the UAE.

The Chairman of the Committee explained that it seeks to enhance its commitment to the principles and concept of national social responsibility, within the framework of the vision and policy of the Dar Al Ber Society, towards implementing and activating the country's policy and the directives of our wise leadership, praising the committee’s successes, societal achievements and accumulated development gains, which have led to tangible effects, in UAE society, as well as presenting a bright image of the commitment of the UAE national charitable institutions to charitable work within the country, in parallel with their commitment to extending a helping hand and benevolence to the people of the world.

Dr. Jalal Hatem pointed to the integrative relationship between Umm Al Quwain University and the Dar Al Ber Society, represented by the Needy Families Committee, within the framework of a well-established strategic community partnership, serving the academic educational sector and supporting university students, which the committee has committed to since the establishment of the university. Which represents a role model in the national community partnership between civil society institutions in the country, pointing out that the efforts of the committee and the Society as a whole reflect the broad developmental role of Emirati charitable and humanitarian institutions, which goes beyond the traditional role of charitable institutions, and provides a broader concept of charitable work.
