Yousef Abdullah Al Yateem, Head of Projects Sector at Dar Al Ber, explained that last month’s aid covered 8 main areas both living and material, which is the payment of tuition fees for 107 families who are unable to pay for their students, to a total amount of 707,732 thousand dirhams. Paying house rent and electricity bills owed by 105 low-income families, at a cost of 707,419 thousand dirhams, and bearing the costs of treating 59 patients with limited income, at a cost of 781,555 thousand dirhams, in addition to providing general social assistance to 156 families, at a value of 665,650 thousand. dirhams.

Yousef Al-Yateem added that the list of aid last May, which was provided by the Zakat Department in Dar Al Ber, also included the distribution of meat to 400 needy families, and the provision of water coolers in various areas of workers' housing in the country, and 6,492 workers benefited from this project within the annual summer project, which aimed at facing the high temperatures and humidity during the hot season and providing 4000 meals to the needy, at a cost of 137,310 thousand, within the Society’s project.

For his part, Dr. Hisham Al-Zahrani, Director of Zakat Department in the Projects Sector of the Society, confirmed that Dar Al Ber continues its programs and efforts aimed at helping the needy, people with limited income and weak social segments, within the UAE and extending helping hands and charity to the poor and weak, based on the Society’s values and vision. Which is based on our Islamic religion, which pays great attention to helping the poor and giving charity. It is also an implementation of the policy of our country and the directives of our wise leadership in the field of charitable and humanitarian work, towards strengthening the civilized image of the UAE in the world and consolidating its position on the map of global humanitarian work.

Al-Zahrani indicated that Dar Al Ber places helping the needy inside the Emirates at the top of its priorities, while the Society has made tireless efforts and provided a lot of goodness, charity and humanitarian initiatives during the last stage in the face of Covid-19, to mitigate the repercussions of the global pandemic and its negative repercussions on low-income people and those affected.
