The day before yesterday )Saturday(, the Committee for Needy Families in Umm Al Quwain, affiliated with the Dar Al Ber Society, launched the distribution of 15,300 food parcels to 1,600 families who are eligible in the Emirate, as part of preparations for the holy month as part of the annual Ramadan seasonal charity work for the committee.

Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Dar Al Ber Society, confirmed that the committee is keen to hand over the Ramadan Baskets to the needy every year before the month of Ramadan, to ensure the provision of their food and living needs, during the blessed month, which is an annual tradition that the committee has followed since its inception until today, over the course of sixteencontinuous years. He stressed that the preventive measures were adhered to during the operations of distribution, including distancing and wearing masks and the like, while the handover operations" were carried out in cooperation and coordination with the ‘Community Police’ under the General Command of Umm Al Quwain Police.

Ali Hassan Al-Assi, Head of the Committee, said: “The cases of those entitled to the Ramadan Basket this year are among the needy, impoverished and needy families, of several nationalities, who are included in the committee's lists, whose financial and living conditions have been subject to a thorough social study by the competent department in the committee, to ensure that they are entitled to food and assistance.

Ali Al-Assi explained that the ‘Ramadan Basket’ for this new Ramadan included basic food such as rice, dates, salt, sugar, cooking oil, pasta, vermicelli "balaleet", date molasses and tomato paste.

Al-Assi indicated that the society, represented by the Committee of Needy Families, worked to provide the main and various foodstuffs that each family urgently needs during Ramadan, pointing to the great charitable and humanitarian role of a group of philanthropists, from businessmen and charitable people, from the Emiratis and residents of its land, in the provision of Ramadan money for the benefit of low-income people.
